The signs are unmistakable. Whether it be his decisions as Commander-In-Chief in Afghanistan, his recent proposals for a series of small business tax cuts to spur job growth, or calls for a spending freeze on discretionary federal spending – President Obama has taken a sure and steady step toward the center of the political spectrum. The Senate voted in favor of going back to the pay-go rules that were key to bringing the budget into balance during the Clinton administration. With pay-go rules in place, spending increases passed by the Congress will need to be offset by spending reductions or tax increases.
Meanwhile, here in the Washington, DC metro area we will be shoveling out for days – 20 to 30 inches of snow overnight and below freezing temps will mean the streets won’t be cleared any time soon. More gridlock in Washington. Not a surprise.
When did you find the details? I tried to get some added details about it, but I wasn’t able to.
